Toy — previously unreleased

Recorded in the wake of Bowie's triumphant Glastonbury 2000 performance, Toy sees him and his band reinterpreting songs originally recorded between 1964 and 1971. In 2001, the idea of a surprise album drop — and the technology to support it — was still years away, making release impossible at the time. Until now.

The book

A 128-page hardback accompanies the set, featuring rarely seen and previously unpublished photography from Frank W. Ockenfels III, Nick Knight, John Scarisbrick, Nina Schultz Terner and others. It also includes memorabilia, technical album notes from producers and engineers Brian Eno, Nile Rodgers, Reeves Gabrels and Mark Plati, plus a new interview with The Buddha of Suburbia collaborator Erdal Kızılçay.
